FAQ

There are just three months to go until the big day!

  1. If you haven’t yet, please RSVP as soon as you can.
  2. If you’re staying at the campsite, it’s very important that you call and book your pitch, especially if you’re bringing a campervan.

Can I help on the Tuesday?

We have more than enough helpers, but thank you so much. Go exploring! If you see us on the beach in the evening, do come and have a drink.

I’m camping. Are there places to get ready?

There are lovely hot, clean showers at the site. There is more than enough space to get ready- remember, you’re going to be partying on a beach, not appearing the BAFTAs (sorry!).

Guests who have brought vans may be prevailed upon to let you plug in and use hairdryers, straighteners and so on.

How will I get to the campsite?

If you are staying in accommodation elsewhere, please make sure to let us know. You will be picked up by the party-bus at a pre-arranged time and brought to the campsite. This bus will also take you home at the end of the night. There should be no need for you to drive.

We will also have the local taxi firm on call, but be aware that this is just one chap.

What about if it’s raining?

The wet-weather plan is to hold the ceremony at the hall. The bus route will be reversed. Guests at the campsite will be picked up first, then guests in Morar, and on to Arisaig.

Please keep an eye on the Facebook event page if it looks like it’s going to rain. You can also text Jemma’s phone: 07872108625 if you are looking for an update. A beautiful bridesmaid will reply with information.

What do I need to know to take part in the Bake Off?

An info sheet has been emailed to participants.

Can I make cheese flan?

Make whatever you want! We especially welcome any foods that are allium-, nut-, or gluten-free, and anything vegetarian/ vegan.

What do I do with my food?

Hand Bake Off items to a groomsman when you arrive at the campsite.

What do I do with my drink?

Please relinquish your alcohol when you arrive at the campsite. There will be a sign-posted area for you to leave your drink. This will be transported to the hall and chilled for you if required.

What else should I bring?

We will be asking guests to take a seat on the beach for the ceremony. If you have suitable chairs, please do bring them along, even if you won’t need to sit on one yourself. Otherwise, please bring a blanket.

Do bring wellies, a warm jacket, a brolly, and a swimsuit. We must prepare for every eventuality!

Musical instruments if you’re musically gifted, and beach games and toys will also be very welcome.

What do I need for Thursday?

We’ll need to see what the weather’s doing before we decide if we’re staying at the beach or going to the hall. All food needed can be picked up in Mallaig in the morning. We will barbecue if the weather is good, or go back to the hall if it’s not.
